The Kenora Thistle Organization would like to Congratulate Kevin Raine on being drafted by the London Knights in the 7th round of the OHL priority selection draft.

Kevin developed his game in Kenora over the past 2 seasons. Playing in the Manitoba AAA League helped Kevin gain exposure and got him ready to move on to the next level.         

March 12,13,14 - Branch Playdowns - Thistles season comes to an end with a 2-1 loss and a 4-3 double overtime loss to the Thunder Bay Kings in 2 games filled with controversy. Congratulations boys on a great season.

Feb 27th -Kenora AAA Midget Thistles drop a shootout loss to the Kenora AAA Senior Thistles in exhibition play.

Kenora Thistles bounced from playoffs after a 4-1 and a 4-2 loss to the Winnipeg Thrashers. The team now prepares for the Branch playdowns in Thunder Bay on march 12,13,14. 

1st round of the playoffs begin Wednesday February 17. KENORA THISTLES vs WINNIPEG THRASHERS at the Gateway arena in Winnipeg. Game time is 7:30pm. Game 2 in Kenora Friday February 19th, game time is 7:00pm. Game 3 if necessary will go Sunday in Winnipeg at 11:45am.  

Feb 15 - Thistles finish regular season with a 7-1 win against the Parkland Rangers and finish up with 33pts on the season. 

Feb 12,13 - Thistles drop 2 more with a 6-0 loss to the Winnipeg Wild on Friday night and a hard fought 3-2 loss to the Eastman selects on Saturday night.

Feb 5,6 - Losing streak ends with a 7-4 win over the Winnipeg Thrashers and a 2-1 shootout win over the Interlake Lightning.

Jan 29,30 - Thistles drop a pair to Pembina Valley Hawks with a 6-1 and 4-3 losses.

Jan 27th - Losing streak continues with a 4-2 loss to the Eastman Selects.

Jan 22,23 - Thistles drop two close ones. 3-1 to Central pains Capitals and 4-2 to the Parkland Rangers. 

Jan 15th - The Winnipeg Wild beat Thistles by a score of 6-2. The teams now go into the allstar weekend break

Jan 8,9 - Kenora earns 3 of 4 points against the Yellowhead Chiefs with a 4-3 win and a 4-3 shootout loss.

Jan 6 - Thistle drop another close one with a 5-3 loss to the Winnipeg Thrashers.

Jan 2,3 - The Thistles lose a pair, although outshooting both teams the Thistles could not muster up a win. Losing 5-3 to the Yellowhead Chiefs and 4-0 to the the Central Plains Capitals.

Dec 30 - Thistles finish off 2009 with a huge 5-2 win over the Winnipeg Thrashers and go into the new year with 24 points. 

Dec 23 - The boys dropped a hard fought 5-2 decision to the Winnipeg Wild before the christmas break. 

Dec 18,19,20 - 3 point weekend for the Thistles. Kenora dropped a OT loss to the Southwest Cougars on friday followed by a 7-4 win over the Yellowhead Chiefs on Saturday and on Sunday lost a 3-2 decision to the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Dec 11,12 - The Thistles earned a split with a 6-2 win and a 5-4 loss to the Norman Northstars.

Dec 4,6 - Kenora's struggles continue after dropping 2 more games with a 3-0 loss to Pembina Valley and a 4-3 loss to the Eastman Selects.

Nov 28, 29 - The Thistles drop 2 more games to the Interlake Lightning and drop into a tie for fourth place in the East Division with the Lightning and the Norman Northstars.

Nov 21, 22 - Kenora Thistles fall to 8-8-0-1 on the season after dropping a pair of road games on the weekend. The boys dropped a 4-2 decision to the Southwest Cougars on Saturday and fell to the Brandon Wheat Kings by a 3-1 margin on Sunday.

Nov 14,15 - The Thistles earned 4 points and get back in the win column with 2 victories against the Central Plains Capitals.

Nov 11 - After putting in a valient effort Kenora dropped a 6-1 decision to the Pembina Valley Hawks. Kenora played with only 12 skaters due to injury and the flu.

Nov 10 - After a week of battling injurys and the flu bug the Thistles dropped a pair of lopsided games to the Winnipeg Wild and the Eastman Selects. 

Nov 1st - Thistles pick up 4 points with a weekend sweep of the Parkland Rangers. The boys won 3-1 on saturday and 4-1 on Sunday. That moves them into second place in their division. 

Oct 23 - Interlake Lightning defeat the Thistles 5-4 in a close game. Kenora outshot the Lightning 40-34.

Oct 16 - 17th  The Thistles split a pair of games with the Norman Northstars in Thompson Mb. The Boys lost the opener 6-0 but followed that with a 3-2 win in an exciting Saturday night game.

Oct 9-10  The Thistles split a weekend series with the Brandon Wheat Kings with a 3-1 win on Friday and a 2-1 OT loss on Saturday.  

Oct 7th -The Thistles beat the host Winnipeg Thrashers 3-1 on Wednesday evening to go to 2 and 1 on the season.

Oct 3 and 4th -The Thistles opened up their season with a 9-3 loss to the Southwest Cougars but rebounded with a 2-0 shutout win against the same Cougars the next day.
