The Kenora Thistles play in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League, which provides an opportunity to gain maximum exposure for players wanting to further their playing careers after Midget. The Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League is heavily scouted by teams from Junior A, WHL, NCAA, Canadian Universities, and the NHL. Our League is the most heavily scouted league in this region.

The objectives of this league is to develop players' skills in order that they may make a successful move to a higher level of hockey. Some of the graduates of the league have moved to the AHL and the NHL including Jimmy Roy, Chris Nielson, Chris Pronger, Mike Richards, Trevor Kidd, Pat Falloon, Marty Murray, Aaron Asham, Shane Hnidy, Russ Romaniuk, Pete Leboutillier, Tyler Arnason, Eric Fehr, and Mike Maneluk. Recent graduates moving through Junior A and College programs into professionals include Brett Skinner, Ryan Caldwell, Nigel Dawes, Eric Fehr, and Ian White.                               

Program costs are very reasonable and school missed is minimal. One parent is allowed to ride on the bus for road games, and if space permits, more are welcome.
